Gabrielle is amazing! She was able to work with my limited schedule. She’s very communicative and understanding. I had my two front windows, two vent windows, and windshield tinted with ceramic tint. Pricing is on par with everyone else. I had to get my windshield replaced after she tinted it and she was able to quickly work me back into her schedule and redo it. She does great work. I highly recommend taking your vehicle to Shades of Grey!

I dropped by Stereo Inmovations to see Shea for my car tint in Waynesville. I've used Shades Of Grey Tnt Services for 8+ years. They are super professional and the best at what they do. 👍😁😄🙂😆 Before and after photos of epic car window tinting by Shea

FAQ

Good questions, straight answers.

Everything people ask us before booking — tint laws, films, care, and cost. Don't see yours? Just ask.

What's the legal tint limit in North Carolina?

For most passenger vehicles, NC allows 35% VLT (visible light transmission) on the front side, rear side, and back windows, with a non-reflective strip on the windshield above the AS-1 line. Darker tint is available for the rear windows of some trucks, vans, and SUVs, and the NC DMV offers medical exemptions. We'll walk you through what's legal for your specific vehicle before we start.

How long does a window tint install take?

Most cars and trucks take about 2–3 hours. Larger vehicles, full windshields, or tint removals can take longer. Residential and commercial jobs are quoted individually based on the number and size of windows.

What's the difference between ceramic and dyed film?

Dyed film darkens the glass and adds privacy at a lower price point. Ceramic film also blocks a much higher percentage of infrared heat and 99% of UV rays without needing to be dark, so your car stays noticeably cooler and the film won't fade or turn purple over time. We'll help you pick the right film for your budget and goals.

How long until I can roll my windows down?

Leave the windows up for two days after installation so the film can fully cure and bond to the glass. Rolling them down early can lift the edges.

Why does my new tint look hazy or have small water bubbles?

That's normal. Tiny moisture pockets and a slight haze are part of the curing process and disappear on their own within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the weather. If anything still looks off after that, give us a call.

Does the tint come with a warranty?

Yes. Our professional-grade films carry a nationwide lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, and color change, and we stand behind every install.

Do you tint homes and businesses too?

Yes — residential and commercial window film is a big part of what we do. It cuts glare and heat, lowers energy bills, protects floors and furniture from UV fading, and adds privacy or security without blocking the view.

How much does window tinting cost?

It depends on the vehicle or building, the number of windows, and the film you choose. Call or text us with a few details and we'll give you a straightforward quote with no pressure.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, we work by appointment so every job gets our full attention. Call or text and we'll find a time that fits your schedule, including Saturdays.
